The Yellowstone National Park northern road is now open!

One mile from Yellowstone National Park!

WHAT TO DO

Whether you are visiting the area to explore the unique beauty of Yellowstone National Park or to enjoy winter sports in the Beartooth wilderness, there are a variety of local activities to suit every taste. Silver Willows Cabins are the perfect home base for you and your family.

HIKE THE LOCAL TRAILS

In spring, summer, and fall, you are minutes from Yellowstone’s northeast entrance or the Beartooth Pass and scenic Chief Joseph Byway. For those interested in hiking, there are many marked trails throughout the national park.

WILDLIFE WATCHING

Area wildlife is plentiful throughout the year, especially in the nearby Lamar Valley. Keep an eye out for foxes, moose, deer, and sometimes bears from the window.

FISHING & RIVER RAFTING

In spring and summer, fly fishing is popular in and around Yellowstone. You can even catch fish right on the Silver Willows property! Most river rafting and float companies operate in the nearby town of Gardiner, Montana, near the north entrance of the park.

SNOWMOBILE & SKI THE BACKCOUNTRY

In winter, you have easy access to the nearby Bannock Trail, which takes you all the way up to Cooke City and the backcountry for snowmobiling, snowshoeing or skiing. From the property, you can ski directly to the Warm Creek Trail in Yellowstone.

"This was a very cozy cabin, just as described. Perfectly located in an area close to YNP and Lamar Valley. 10 moose at one time wasn't in the description, but should be!"
